Post-partum fat loss

progress & stats

Start: 200lbs
End: 155lbs
Allie's top priority when searching for a coach postpartum was finding someone who would listen.
"I didn't want a coach to discourage me from pursuing my weight loss goals. I chose Hard House because I knew they'd hear me out and safely guide me through a deficit while I was postpartum and breastfeeding."
"Not every mom needs to or should focus on fat loss after giving birth. But after giving up my body for 9+ months, I really wanted to feel like myself again. I knew this goal was safe and appropriate for me."
Although Allie is a registered dietician and has a strong understanding of nutrition and physiology, she wanted external accountability, support, and someone who knew how to guide her through common mindset struggles like impatience, ambivalence, and low motivation, on top of tiredness from having a new baby.
Allie started her deficit around 2,400 calories. We moved her steadily down until we average 2,000-2,100 calories, where she stayed for the majority of her deficit.

As Allie got in the low 170's, we took her deficit down to 1900, then 1800, and finished the last few weaks around 1700 until she reached her goal weight of 155lbs.

Allie worked towards her goal from July 2022 through Dec 2023.
Allie is a prime example of how progress can be made working the plan 80/20.

She was able to enjoy hosting friends and family, take vacation, travel, and enjoy the holidays while still working towards her goals. She'd rather it take 18 months to reach her goals and have it feel good than try to be rigid and perfection just to finish sooner.

What makes Allie a superb client is her communication and openness. Being a RD can add pressure to have it figured out or come in perfect, but RD's are human (and tired working moms) too.

Her advice to being a great client:
  1. Don't avoid hard conversations or mask slip ups
  2. Check-in even if you don't want to
  3. Setbacks are part of the process. If you're not having any, you're probably not working the plan

If you are postpartum and looking for a health coach to help you navigate your health goals while juggling a lot of demands, Hard House is here to help.
