One-on-one nutrition coaching for people who've tried it all but it hasn't stuck (yet)
we hate these stats
Most nutrition programs and weight loss approaches focus on surface-level guidelines and strategies while keeping you beholden to tracking. They ignore (or don't understand) the psychological, emotional, and behavioral patterns that drive eating, and even more importantly, they don't know how to help you change it.
But Hard House does.
our approach addresses what others miss
By combining nutrition and behavioral science, we help you craft a personalized approach that addresses both what you eat and why you eat. How we do this:
We take a snapshot of your current eating habits and compare them to how you want to improve, then develop a plan grounded in behavioral science to bridge the gap.
We take it beyond "habit coaching" (whatever that means); you'll learn the actual science behind building and breaking habits so that you can actually improve your default behaviors.
We've embedded the science of body image to help you build a positive relationship with your body, which helps sustain your motivation so that you can care for yourself long-term.
We help you break free from all-or-nothing thinking that has sabotaged all your previous attempts to make progress through helping you build skills like psychological flexibility.
We teach you how to cultivate motivation when you need it and how to self-regulate during the times when you don't "feel like it."
We show you how to build balanced meals that satisfy both your nutritional needs and your taste preferences while teaching you how to spot and debunk nutrition myths online.
We use the Stages of Change model to guide our coaching practices and ensure that if you change, it's not just temporary, it's for good.
"I went from extreme restriction, then overcorrected hard in intuitive eating. Hard House helped me find the middle.
— kate rossing

— michelle jackson

IF:
let's do a pulse check
Behavior change begins with your self-concept.
Changing your habits and behaviors will feel like spinning your wheels until you learn to evolve your identify and beliefs about who you are and what you're capable of.
Becoming a normal eater is the least you're capable of.
Humans came out of the box wired to change. ”Neuroplasticity“ is the fancy medical term used to describe your brain's ability to learn and adapt, after all. Let this be your reminder that improving how you think and eat is the bare minimum of what you're capable of!
We have a "No More Mondays" mindset 'round here
Using fresh starts can be a good idea (and it's evidence-based too!) but not if it's a trojan horse for all-or-nothing thinking. We help you develop the wisdom to know the difference.
We care about BEING something over looking like something.
What we do when nobody is watching, living in a way that aligns with our personal values, and BEING over SEEMING is a core tenet of our philosophy. Becoming something takes guts.
Discomfort tolerance is an essential ingredient to change
Discomfort is a green flag because it means you're growing, engaging, and trying. Discomfort tolerance is the foundation to building a satisfying, rich life.
This is the work of our lives
This isn't a one-and-done adventure. There's no arriving. This work to maintain our health and well-being is an ongoing practice that we can get better at month after month, year after year.
